Current Facilities
Battery Research Laboratories
Georgia Tech faculty and GT Research Institute researchers run extensive facilities for battery material synthesis, battery cell fabrication, and battery testing.
Other Characterization Facilities
Georgia Tech has a wide variety of materials and device characterization resources, including instrumentation for imaging, spectroscopy, and diffraction within the Materials Characterization Facility.
Planned Facilities
Advanced Manufacturing Pilot Facility (AMPF)
AMPF is being expanded on campus and enables collaborations with companies in variety of industries to enhance manufacturing via the use of automation and autonomous decision making.
Grid-Integrated Energy Storage “Learning Lab”
GT is installing a stationary energy storage system integrated with a solar panel array and electric vehicle chargers. The storage system contains different chemistries and will allow GT researchers to understand how realistic operational profiles impact system performance, with the goal of improving renewable energy storage.
